Earlier this week my friend told me about the massive ice disk that had formed in Westbrook Maine along the Presumpscot River. Opportunities to see and experiance things like this are always a draw, so I packed up the family and we hit the road.
We arrived at night and saw the disk illuminated faintly by the buildings across the river. Visiting at night was unique because of the general quiet that surrounds you. I stood at the shoreline and could hear the ice moving and shifting in the water.
We returned back the next morning for a second look which did not disappoint.
I timed the spinning, when I was there it took 28 minutes to complete a full rotation. Impressive for something so big.
